You have heard about the Greater Bay Area (GBA), but do you know the ins and outs of it? Did you know the GBA aims to build a globally competitive mega-region, and by 2035, establish a high-tech productivity cluster to rival other mega-regions in China, Japan and the United States?
In order to support this mega-region, with Hong Kong SAR, Shenzhen and Guangzhou as key GBA office clusters, we estimate an additional 21 million sq meters of office space will be needed. Still, bridging the gaps between Chinese and Hong Kong economic, legal and labour systems, as well as the costs of intra-city travel could prove to be challenging.
