Our local history
1995 – Consolidated Property and White-Leasure-Clark combine to form Paragon Commercial Group, one of the largest providers of full service commercial real estate services in Idaho
1997 – Paragon Commercial Group becomes Colliers Mcaullay Nicolls International
2001 – Colliers Mcaullay Nicolls International becomes Colliers International under private local ownership, located in Downtown Boise
2007 – Colliers International establishes a permanent Nampa office to better serve Canyon County
2012 – Recognized as Idaho’s premier commercial real estate brokerage firm, Colliers International continues to provide clients with world-class commercial real estate and asset management services throughout Idaho
2017 – Recognized as #3 Best Places to Work in Idaho in the medium size company category
2018 – Colliers International grows their brokerage services by 25%, opening an office in Pocatello and Twin Falls
2019 – Expands ownership model to include 15 employees and appoints Jim Shipman as Managing Partner and Market Leader
2020 – Colliers International establishes a permanent Idaho Falls office to better serve Eastern Idaho
2020 – Recognized as Best Commercial Property Management Company in Idaho
2021 – Recognized as Best Commercial Real Estate Company and Best Commercial Property Management Company in Idaho

Managing Owner | Market Leader
Jim serves as the Managing Partner and Market Leader for the Colliers Idaho offices (Boise, Nampa, Twin Falls, Idaho Falls and Pocatello). In this role, he oversees all aspects of the brokerage and property management services, business development and departmental objectives. Jim is licensed as a Broker in Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana and Oregon, providing clients access to multiple markets throughout the West.
Prior to joining Colliers, Jim was an Executive Vice President & Partner at Phillips Edison & Company. Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, Jim helped complete over $300M of ground-up development and acquisition of net-lease properties throughout the United States.
Jim was CEO and President of HGM Medical Lasers based in Salt Lake City, Utah which manufactured and distributed lasers worldwide. He oversaw all aspects of the business, including procurement, manufacturing, engineering, regulatory compliance, sales & marketing and accounting. He increased value of the company tenfold at the time of the sale and was honored with a nomination for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for the turn-around of the business.
Jim’s professional experience also includes 25 years as an attorney practicing almost exclusively in real estate services. He practiced with Isaacson, Rosenbaum, Woods & Levy in Denver, Colorado and Parsons Behle & Latimer in Salt Lake City, Utah.
