Life Science Lifts the Peninsula
Despite economic uncertainty and rising inflation, the San Francisco Peninsula commercial real estate market remained resilient in the third quarter, marking its seventh consecutive quarter of expansion. Deal velocity increased 4.9 percent, recording nearly 2.0 million square feet of activity, including Astellas’ prelease of 154,000 square feet of life science space in South San Francisco. Over 520,000 square feet of product completed construction in Q3, and over half a billion dollars in capital markets was transacted in the third quarter, indicating a secure and stable market for investors.
