With 2.35 million square feet leased during July, activity in Manhattan increased – for the third consecutive month – by 15.2% since June and was the strongest month of leasing since July 2020 (2.39 million square feet). Leasing activity in July was well above the 2020 average monthly volume (1.58 million square feet). Yet, July’s total was still nearly 35.0% below the pre-pandemic average monthly volume in 2019 (3.58 million square feet). Two leases accounted for more than 30.0% of Manhattan’s volume during the month. Fried Frank signed a 400,000 sq. ft. renewal at 1 New York Plaza while the City of New York signed a 313,000 sq. ft. renewal at 60 Broad Street.

She was the Manager of Real Estate Analytics of Studley, Inc. Prior to Jones Lang LaSalle, Ms. Cheng was a Research Analyst with LaSalle Investment Management in New York City, focusing on the multifamily markets and the Northern New Jersey Industrial market.
