Vegas in the Black in 2019, Silver and Black in 2020
Nearing the end of 2019, it looks like we can safely say that it was a pretty good year for Southern Nevada’s economy, despite some signs of slowing growth.

Unemployment in the Las Vegas-Paradise MSA was 4.0 percent in October 2019, 0.4 points lower than in October 2018. Unemployment peaked in Southern Nevada at 14 percent in January 2011. The region’s previous low unemployment rate was 3.8 percent in March 2019. The latest national unemployment figure was 3.5 percent in November 2019, 0.2 points lower than in November 2018. The national labor force participation rate was 63.2 percent in November 2019, a 0.2 percent decrease from one year ago.
