Median home prices of a single-family home in Ada County rose from $427,000 in November 2020 to $538,000 in November 2021. Canyon County saw a similar increase: $325,000 in 2020 to $409,000 in 2021. These price increases have slowed recently, marking a return to the seasonal pattern that was disrupted in 2020.
The Employment in Idaho showed an increase of 7,000 since July with 883,000 people currently employed. The rise in employment has outpaced the growth of the civilian labor force, which increased by just 5,000 people over the same period. As a result, the unemployment rate has fallen by 0.2% to 2.8%.
Ada County saw a moderate increase in the acreage of commercial land listings this quarter; Canyon County, Eastern Idaho and Southern Idaho all saw moderate decreases. Eastern Idaho and Ada County currently have the most commercial land listed, with 4,773 acres and 4,537 acres available, respectively.
