2020 Census reflected strong growth for the Myrtle Beach MSA

According to the 2020 Census, the Myrtle Beach metropolitan statistical area (MSA) population has grown from 376,722 in 2010 to 487,762 people in 2020, an increase of 22.76% over the past ten years. The average median household income within the Myrtle Beach MSA during 2020 was $53,648 a 31.82% increase over the 2010 average median income $40,697. In addition, gross retail sales have increased by 64.86% from 2010 through 2021.
