Demand For Class A Office Space Rises, Supply Shrinks

Twenty-seven percent of all office space in the Central Loop is up for sale.

Chicago’s CBD vacancy rate shed 50 basis points from last quarter to 11.8 percent. On average, over a five-year timespan, Chicago’s CBD vacancy rate has shed 170 basis points per year. 

Class A vacancy decreased by 100 basis points from last quarter to 10.1 percent. On average, over a five-year timespan, Chicago’s CBD Class A vacancy rate has decreased by 281 basis points per year.
