Buckhead tops Atlanta office market in Q1 occupancy loss

Thanks in part to one tenant move-out, the Buckhead submarket saw the highest negative absorption in the Atlanta market in the first quarter.

Just over 1 million square-feet of occupied space was given back in Q1. The vast majority of this space came from Cricket Wireless' 932,251 square-foot vacancy at Lindbergh City Centre. The move was anticipated as part of AT&T's consolidation plans out of Atlanta office space, and represents the largest vacancy ever to hit the Atlanta market in a single period. 

Because of this move and limited occupancies, Buckhead will be Atlanta's most underperforming submarket in 2021.
