Immediately after Shell Landing opened in 2002, the January 2003 issue of Golf Digest recognized the course as fifth Best New Upscale Public Course. The classic design and exceptional course conditions have served to maintain Shell Landing’s stellar reputation, and the course is repeatedly ranked in the state’s top 5 courses open for public play.
The well bunkered layout stretches over 7,000 yards from the back tees, and the greens are large and undulating. Lined by dense woodlands and vast marshes, the fairways are an attention grabbing mix of dog legs, both left and right, and water comes into play on 6 holes.
In 2007, the Davis Love III championship design was presented the Golf Digest “Architecture Award”.
