Steven Smyers designed a thinking man’s course at Ivy Hills. Landing areas off the tee are generous, but native heather grasses just off the rough make the fairways feel tighter, resulting in a course that can play longer than the par 71’s 6,746 yards. Large undulating greens enhance the Americanized, links style design while frequent elevation changes add to the strategic challenge.
Architect Steven Smyers is most recognized for his redesign work on the private course at Isleworth – a club made famous by the large number of PGA Tour player members and as one of the host venues for the Tavistock Cup.
