Colliers International Hires Three Industry Pros To Lead New Landlord Agency Team in D.C.

Former Cushman & Wakefield, Carr Properties Veterans Have Completed Millions Of Square Feet in Transactions, Represented Numerous World-Class Clients

WASHINGTON D.C., DECEMBER 7, 2020 — Leading global commercial real estate services and investment management firm Colliers International Group Inc. announces it has hired three industry veterans to join its rapidly-growing Washington D.C. office. Mark Sullivan and Matthew Venos from Cushman & Wakefield, and Martha Naughten of Carr Properties will focus primarily on landlord leasing representation as Colliers continues to strengthen its agency practice.

Sullivan and Venos join Colliers as Executive Vice President and Senior Vice President, respectively. Over the last several years, they have earned reputations as two of the most successful real estate professionals in the region, working on over 14 million square feet of development and leasing projects and representing a number of world-class clients including Clarion Partners, Prudential and BlackRock. During his career, Sullivan has received accolades from the Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Association (CREBA), including multiple appearances on the Top 10 Leasing Agents list and Leasing Transaction of the Year recognition. In Venos' 12-year career, he has been involved in high-level deals such as Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Eversheds Sutherland LLP, Blackboard, and the Humane Society of the United States headquarters, which was named Washington Business Journal's Best Real Estate Deal of 2016.

The two are joined by Naughten, who will serve as Vice President. A rapidly rising star in the industry, Naughten has received numerous industry honors over the last several years, perhaps most notably being included at number six on the 2020 Commercial Observer’s Power D.C. list. During her time at Carr Properties, Naughten was part of a team responsible for some of Washington’s most notable developments of late including Midtown Center, home to Fannie Mae, along with the transformation of 1615 L Street into The Hub, one of the more hospitality based and forward thinking renovations in the Washington market, as well as Signal House, the soon to deliver project in Union Market.

"I am thrilled to welcome such an outstanding group of professionals to our D.C. office,” said Colliers’ Executive Managing Director & Market Leader Matt Gannon. “We've added some of the most accomplished, well-rounded brokers in the area, who will not only strengthen our landlord agency practice, but also embody Colliers' values in all they do. With the addition of this new team, Colliers demonstrates our continued commitment to strategic growth and leading the DC region into the future. I'm proud to have Mark, Matt, and Martha join the Colliers family."

The new team will report directly to Gannon and will focus on the greater Washington D.C. metropolitan area.
