Norfolk, VA, January 2023– Colliers is pleased to announce that it has been awarded leasing and management by the Murphy Property Group of nearly 600,000 sf in their nine buildings at City Center at Oyster Point. The Murphy Property Group, based out of Florida, purchased their City Center portfolio in 2021.
City Center is a 52-acre, high-density, mixed-use development zoned for 250,000 sf of Retail, 1,000,000 sf of Class A office space, and 600 residences. The MPG-owned buildings include nearly 450,000 sf of Class A office space and over 100,000 sf of retail space. City Center is poised to accommodate companies that are “back to work” and those that are focused on attracting and retaining talent on the Virginia Peninsula. A range of Class A Office suites are available, with Riverside Health System, HII, Boeing, Merrill Lynch, Ferguson, Morgan Stanley, PB Mares, Siemens, and Kaufman & Canoles as a few of the key tenants, and the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce to join soon. A range of Retail suites are also available, with the opportunity to join tenants including TASTE Unlimited, LOFT, and Strayer University.
City Center sits centrally in Newport News, proximate to Jefferson Avenue, while having easy access to I-64, the Newport News Airport, and public transportation. The new team has plans to revitalize the property with new events and activities, such as cooking classes and yoga by the fountain, while renewing events such the annual Farmers’ Market, Fall Festival, and Lights at the Fountain show.
