Southern Sunset Plaza completes renovation and welcomes Banner Health

Mesa shopping center modernizes and leases space for Banner Health Clinic

Phoenix, December 8, 2020 – Southern Sunset Plaza, at the southwest corner of Country Club Drive and Southern Avenue in Mesa, Arizona, completed a major renovation this year and also leased space to Banner Health for a multi-faceted medical clinic.

“The owners of Southern Sunset have modernized the appearance of the center, creating a terrific improvement in visual appeal,” says John “JK” Jackson of Colliers International in Arizona. “This is now one of the nicest-looking shopping destinations in the area and the changes have attracted new tenant interest.”

Banner Health leased 21,000 square feet at the shopping center to provide the community with a variety of health care choices in a convenient location. Initially, medical services will include family and internal medicine. Construction of the medical clinic is underway and Banner is expected to take occupancy in March 2021.

Jackson and Stan Sanchez of Colliers International in Arizona are the exclusive leasing agents for Southern Sunset Plaza. Vicki Robinson of Jones, Lang, LaSalle (JLL) represented Banner Health in its lease transaction.

The renovations to Southern Sunset Plaza have been implemented over the past 18 months.  They include a complete revision to the façade and elevation of the shopping center, which entailed approximately 200,000 linear feet. In addition, the parking lot was updated and a new Starbucks was opened at the center.
