Colliers negotiates real estate transactions for Goettl Corporation in Arizona

Goettle purchases two buildings and sells a land parcel

PHOENIX, August 6, 2021 – Colliers in Arizona negotiated $15+ million in real estate transactions for Arizona-based Goettl Corp., an 80-year-old Phoenix-based air conditioning and plumbing company with operations in Arizona, Texas, California and Nevada. The company purchased an office building to serve as its new corporate headquarters, acquired an office/warehouse building in Tucson, and sold a commercial land parcel in Scottsdale.

“These were very strategic transactions for the company,” says Greg Hopley, executive vice president with Colliers in Arizona. “Goettl purchased land in Scottsdale several years ago with intent to build a new corporate headquarters. An opportunity arose for the purchase of an ideal, existing building. We pivoted and helped the company sell the land at a profit while acquiring a terrific existing headquarters building. Additionally, we helped Goettl buy a Southern Arizona headquarters building in Tucson to assist in its continued expansion,” said Hopley.

According to Goettl CEO, Ken Goodrich, “With our new corporate headquarters now located in Pheonix, Goettl plans to hire hundreds of new employees and we will be implementing our new Goettl University. This university effort enables us to recruit, hire and train our new employees to perform and reflect the extremely high standards that Goettl offers its clients and is recognized for by the public.”

Goettl purchased 5.4 acres of land at 8701 E. McDowell Road near the Loop 101 more than two years ago. The company just sold the land for $6 million to 8701 BT McDowell, LLC. The buyer plans to hold the property for future development. Colliers in Arizona assisted both parties in the transaction.

The company recently purchased a building at 4611 E. Baseline Road in Phoenix to serve as its future corporate headquarters. Goettl Corp. paid $7.3 million for the 55,000-square-foot office building. The seller, 4611 E Baseline, LLC., was represented Barry Gabel with CBRE. Goettl Corp. plans to relocate from its current space at 1845 W. 1st Street in Tempe and take occupancy of the new building in the coming months.

In addition to the purchase of a corporate headquarters building, Goettl also bought a 23,000-square-foot office/warehouse building at 4771 S. Overland Drive in Tucson for $1.9 million. The sellers, Jim and Teri Enterprises, LLC, were represented by Tim Healy with CBRE. Goettl plans to relocate its Tucson operations from its current location at 2551 N. Dragoon Street in the coming weeks.

Greg Hopley and Dillon Hopley with Colliers in Arizona represented Goettl in all three acquisition and disposition transactions.
