Nick Hanson, SIOR, joins Colliers as Managing Director, Investment Services
Colliers International grows industrial and office investment brokerage team in Orlando
ORLANDO, Fla. (May 12, 2020) – Colliers International has hired Nick Hanson, SIOR, as Managing Director, Investment Services, focusing on industrial and office investment sales in the Central Florida market. In his new role, he will partner with an established Colliers investment sales team that includes Joe Rossi, CCIM, T.J. Campton, CCIM, and Mackenzie Daugherty, CPMC, CPRC.
During his seven-year career, Hanson has been directly involved in commercial real estate transactions totaling over $500 million. He has worked on behalf of many institutional and private investors, including Blue Vista, Taurus Holdings, TerraCap Management and RealOp Investments.
Among many high-profile transactions, he handled the sale of American Industrial Center for $49 million in Longwood in January 2019. It was the largest-ever multi-tenant industrial park sale to a private buyer in Central Florida, with the property representing 20% of the Longwood industrial market.
“Growing the capital markets business has been a top priority for Colliers both locally and nationally,” said Danny Rice, Managing Director and Market Leader for Colliers International Tampa Bay, Central & Southwest Florida. “As investor appetite for Central Florida properties continues to expand, having an experienced professional like Nick join an already dominant team in Orlando will allow us to further grow our services in this space.”
Hanson was most recently Vice President of Investments at Marcus and Millichap’s Orlando office, as well as a Director of the firm’s National Office and Industrial Properties Group. In that role, he specialized in the sale of industrial and office investment properties in Central and North Florida. He also previously worked at NAI Commercial in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, focusing on industrial brokerage.
“Nick has a lot of experience working with private clients, which gives our team the ability to provide an even higher level of service to both institutional and private investors,” said Joe Rossi, Executive Managing Director at Colliers in Orlando. “He’s also very well-known and respected in the industry. We’re excited to partner with someone who’s on such an impressive growth trajectory.”
Hanson holds the SIOR designation, awarded by the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, which recognizes top producers in the commercial real estate field. He graduated from the University of Victoria in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, with a bachelor’s degree in Commerce.
“Colliers was the first company I applied to work for when I decided to enter commercial real estate,” Hanson said. “It was the largest commercial real estate brokerage in Canada and I’ve always had an affinity for the company. I didn’t get the job then, but joining the firm today I feel I’m coming full circle. I’m looking forward to accessing Colliers’ robust platform and helping clients benefit from the full-service nature of the business.”
