13,100 Square Feet Available in ViBe Creative District

Two large properties are available in the ViBe Creative District in Virginia Beach and are currently being marketed by Tyler Brooks, assistant vice president with Colliers International. Located in the 300 block of 17th Street, the buildings comprise 19,000 square feet of commercial space with 13,100 still available for retail, restaurant, office or entertainment offerings.

The local developer, 17th Street Properties, LLC,  is completely renovating the buildings and surrounding lot and upgrading the buildings’ façades. Construction is scheduled to be completed by first quarter 2020. The buildings will have ample parking in the front and rear and are located adjacent to 17th Street Surf Shop, a flagship store that has been in business for more than 30 years.

“It’s an exciting time to be in the ViBe Creative District,” said Brooks. “We are still in the redevelopment phase; so, there is flexibility on the size of the space to fit the user’s needs. This area is ideal for this type of repurposed development and will be attractive to users that want to become part of this dynamic district in the resort area.”

The ViBe Creative District is within walking distance of the Virginia Beach oceanfront with immediate access to Interstate 264. The location is also convenient to the Virginia Beach Convention Center and the new Sports Center that will open soon. Additionally, the City of Virginia Beach has incentives available for tenant improvements through the ViBe Creative District Matching Grant program. Types of improvements funded include enhanced entrances or storefronts, lighting, fencing, signage, landscaping, parking upgrades and open-air café spaces. Projects must make a demonstrable improvement to the property. Funding through the program is intended to encourage and support economic development and job growth within the District. Grant applications and additional information are available at www.yesvirginiabeach.com/city-incentives.

The ViBe Creative District was established to attract creative industries to a section of the Virginia Beach oceanfront that was identified for revitalization. It is an incubator for small and emerging businesses. The ViBe Creative District's purpose is to serve as a vibrant center for the arts, culture and technology.
