The custom hair-care brand Prose is expanding its manufacturing facility in Sunset Park.
The company signed a deal for a 28,000-square-foot space where it will mix and bottle its line of made-to-order shampoos and other products.
Prose will open the facility at 850 Third Ave., a large former industrial building now known as Liberty View Industrial Plaza that was redeveloped a decade ago to attract creative tenants and new-generation manufacturers.
The lease comes a little over a month after the brand announced it would relocate its office headquarters to Brooklyn.
“Their manufacturing process has become bigger and more sophisticated,” said Marcus Rayner, a leasing executive at Colliers International who represented Prose in the deal with colleagues Richard Warshauer and Sam Einhorn. “This deal represents a tripling of the size of Prose’s manufacturing operations in the city.”
