Colliers Announces 2021 Everest Award Recipients

Bloom Ranked Eighth in the Nation

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Colliers Nashville announced today that five of the firm’s forty brokerage professionals were named as top producers for the firm nationally. Lance Bloom, Ashley Compton, Janet Sterchi, Doug Ryan, and Callen Martin were named Colliers USA Everest Club recipients for their performance in 2021.

The Everest Club recognizes the top 10% of Colliers professionals in brokerage, valuation, and corporate solutions across the U.S. lines of business based on revenue produced.

Lance Bloom, Senior Vice President, placed 8th in the nation. Bloom specializes in urban land and investment sales throughout the Nashville core submarkets for office, hospitality, multifamily, and retail projects. With his expertise in the Nashville market, Bloom has brokered more than $250 million in transactions. He is continually named one of Colliers Nashville's Top 10 producers yearly. 

Ashley Compton is the National Director for the Colliers Self Storage Group. Compton entered the commercial real estate industry while pursuing an undergraduate degree and now has 18+ years of experience representing self-storage property owners and buyers. Compton has sold over 19.3 million square feet of self-storage space valued at over $2.02 billion throughout his brokerage career. Ashley has received the Colliers' Top Producer Award and the Everest Club Award every year since joining Colliers.    

Janet Sterchi, Executive Vice President and Partner, is an industry veteran who has received numerous awards throughout her career. This is Sterchi's second Colliers Everest Award. Other awards include the CBRE distinguished Colbert Coldwell Circle, NAIOP Office Broker of the Year, multiple Office Lease of the Year, and Top Producer awards. Sterchi is a member of the prestigious Occupier Advisor Group for Colliers International. 

Doug Ryan, Executive Vice President and Partner, joined Colliers Nashville with more than 20 years of broad-based commercial real estate experience. Ryan has been a consistent Top 10 producer of the firm and has received the Colliers Everest Award twice. Other awards include NBJ's Power Leader in Commercial Real Estate award, NAIOP Office Broker of the Year, and NAIOP Office Lease of the Year. 

Callen Martin, Valuation Services Director, placed as a top professional in a specialty service. Martin has over ten years of experience in providing valuation and consulting services for owners of retail, office, industrial, multifamily, residential developments, and large acreage tracts for hospitality and self-storage development projects.

Ashley Compton

Principal and Vice Chairman


With a reputation as a key player in self-storage investment sales, Ashley Compton has sold or listed more than 20.1 million square feet of self-storage over the course of his 18+ year brokerage career. These transactions are valued in excess of $2.19 Billion and place Ashley among top national producers. Upon joining Colliers' Nashville office in 2016, Ashley was named a National Director of self-storage investment sales.  Ashley has received the Colliers' Top Producer Award and the Everest Club Award (Top 10% Producer for Colliers US) every year since joining Colliers.

While obtaining his undergraduate degree, Ashley launched his career as an acquisitions analyst for a self-storage REIT. His brokerage experience began at CBRE in 2004, where he quickly developed the firm’s Nashville-area self-storage practice and grew it into a well-known national brand. In 2014 and 2015, CBRE recognized Ashley as the firm’s highest-grossing national self-storage producer. Ashley has served diverse clients including Bank of America, GE Capital Corporation, Babcock & Brown, Westport Properties, Koch Real Estate Investments, and Amerco / U-Haul.

Before earning a master’s of business administration with a concentration in accounting from the University of Mississippi’s School of Business, Ashley received his bachelor’s in finance and real estate from the University of Memphis.

Janet Sterchi

Principal and Executive Vice President


Janet is consistently among the top brokers in the Nashville market. In her 23 years in the industry, 17 with CBRE and 6+ with Colliers Nashville, Janet has focused on representing both tenants and landlords in multimarkets and in Nashville. She has received numerous awards, including: the CBRE most distinguished Colbert Coldwell Circle, NAIOP Office Broker of the Year and multiple Office Leases of the Year and Top Producer awards. 

In 2011, Janet formed an office brokerage team with Doug Ryan, whose expertise includes brokerage, development, architecture and urban planning. Their team goal is to serve as the client’s trusted advisor to navigate the complexities of real estate transactions bringing clarity and experience to negotiations. Through extensive market knowledge, negotiation skills, financial analysis capabilities and strategy around navigating approval processes and relationships, their team is recognized as one of the top leasing teams in Middle Tennessee.

Doug Ryan

Executive Vice President & Partner


Doug Ryan joined the Colliers team in November 2014 bringing with him more than 20 years of broad-based commercial real estate experience.

As  Executive Vice President in Office Brokerage, Doug provides landlord and tenant representation with a focus on serving clients as a trusted advisor,  navigating the complexities of real estate transactions and bringing clarity to corporate leases. With partners Janet Sterchi, Executive Vice President, and Richard Rieck, Senior Associate, they are widely recognized among the top brokerage teams and advisors in Nashville’s commercial real estate industry. Doug and Janet have both independently received NAIOP’s Nashville Broker of the Year Award. 

Previously, Doug worked for CBRE as First Vice President specializing in landlord and tenant representation for office product. Before joining CBRE, Doug owned his own real estate consulting practice where he advised corporate clients on the development, planning, entitlements, and zoning processes of their projects. He also provided services for office leasing, retail leasing and land sales. Prior experience includes working for Cushman and Wakefield’s Office Services Group in Detroit, Michigan. 

Doug holds a Master’s in Urban Planning from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
