Colliers International elevates industry veteran Hans Mumper to executive vice president overseeing all Southern California offices

Move comes on heels of Martin Pupil’s rise to President of U.S. Brokerage Services

LOS ANGELES – March 1, 2017 – In a strategic move to streamline and effectively manage its expansion in Southern California, Colliers International has elevated Hans Mumper, one of the industry’s most respected, experienced and recognizable senior executives, to the newly created post of Executive Managing Director for Southern California, it was announced by Martin Pupil, president, U.S. Brokerage Services.

The announcement of Mumper’s expanded role comes on the heels of Pupil’s own recent promotion to president of Colliers’ U.S. Brokerage Services, also a new post. Formerly, Pupil was president of the company’s Western Region, the larger of two domestic operating regions for the Toronto-headquartered real estate services firm.

Mumper’s appointment now brings under his purview a region that includes Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside and Ventura counties, the company’s largest in terms of population, geography and number of offices. It also is home to many of the nation’s fastest growing economic sectors, including technology, entertainment, logistics, national defense, bio-technology, apparel manufacturing, warehousing, shipping, solar energy, agricultural production, electric automobile manufacturing, and higher education.

“As an invaluable leader with Colliers during a time of great change and challenge, he will now play an even larger strategic role as we expand our brokerage footprint in the nation’s most populous region,” said Pupil. “As the nation’s new knowledge-based economic engine continues to shift from East to West, we intend to meet the challenges such a change brings with it having the most talented and steadfast leaders like Hans at the helms of all of our regions, especially this one, which, by its sheer size alone, is arguably among our most important.”

Mumper’s appointment continues the company’s implementation of a long-range strategic plan directed to shareholders, clients, and other stakeholders designed to increase revenues and profitability by retaining and recruiting top producing brokers, opening new markets, reinforcing and expanding client relationships, and streamlining its regional and corporate operations.

Overall, during his more than three-decade career in commercial real estate, Mumper, who will continue to be based in the firm’s downtown Los Angeles office, has served in progressively more senior brokerage and management posts at a variety of companies, including Grubb & Ellis, CBRE, USAA Real Estate Company and BentleyForbes.

Just prior to joining Colliers in 2012, Mumper was senior vice president and director of management services at Grubb & Ellis. In that role, he was responsible for business development and operations management, overseeing the firm’s Southern California Region, including a portfolio in excess of 10 million square feet of office, industrial and retail space.

Active in a variety of civic, professional and charitable organizations, he serves on the executive committees of the Central City Association and of the Los Angeles Commercial Realty Association.  A resident of Sierra Madre where he has resided with his wife Beth and raised two sons Jacob and Austen.  Hans holds an undergraduate degree from Occidental College.
