Executive Managing Director Cody Cannon Says Expanded Management Roles for James Malone and Robert Caudill Part of Strategic Growth Plan in Region
In an effort to bolster its presence and further expand its business in the five-county Los Angeles commercial real estate market, Colliers International has expanded the roles of two senior brokerage officials in its Greater Los Angeles Region, it was announced by Executive Managing Director Cody Cannon. This is Cannon’s first major strategy announcement since joining the global brokerage firm two months ago as head of its largest domestic region.
“We are continuing to evolve to meet the extraordinary demands of our clients in what is arguably the most-expansive commercial real estate economy the nation has ever witnessed,” Cannon said. “These management changes will allow us to further grow our business in a region that has the densest population and highest concentration of offices of any other Colliers region in the nation, recruit and retain top brokerage teams, and, above all, allow us to better meet the needs of our growing roster of clients in all the brokerage sectors we serve – office, industrial, retail, multi-family and investment.”
Executive Managing Director James Malone, who had been based in Colliers’ South Bay office in El Segundo since joining the firm a year ago, will relocate to the firm’s regional flagship office in downtown Los Angeles where he will oversee seven offices -- Downtown Los Angeles, West Los Angeles, South Bay, City of Commerce, Los Angeles North in the San Fernando Valley, Valencia in the Santa Clarita Valley, and Glendale in the San Gabriel Valley.
Prior to joining Colliers, Malone was a leasing executive with Brookfield Properties and Catellus Development, as well as a top-producing broker with Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL). He is a graduate of UCLA where he spent his college career as a standout linebacker for the Bruins and, subsequently, was drafted by the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1992. A former practicing attorney, Malone holds a law degree from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
Regional Managing Director Robert Caudill, who manages the company’s Orange County brokerage operation in Irvine, now will have oversight of two additional offices – the firm’s Inland Empire office in Ontario, Calif. and its City of Industry operation in east Los Angeles County. He has been active in the commercial real estate industry as both a broker and manager for some three decades.
