Sportsman’s Warehouse plans $2.1 million store improvement

The store is planned at River City Marketplace in North Jacksonville.

The city is reviewing a permit application for Sportsman’s Warehouse to improve almost 40,000 square feet of space in River City Marketplace for its entrance into the Northeast Florida market at a cost of almost $2.1 million.

Cameron Construction of Salt Lake City is shown as the contractor for the project at 13075 City Square Drive, No. 107, in the North Jacksonville shopping center. 

The outdoor specialty retailer will lease within a store next to Burlington, according to a brochure and site plan from Colliers real estate.

Colliers Senior Directors Nancy Sumner and Katy Figg and Director Eric Yi represent the landlord in leasing.

Sportsman’s Warehouse said in a January 2022 investor presentation that it had 122 stores in 29 states as of Dec. 25, 2021, at an average size of 38,000 square feet.

It is based in West Jordan, Utah, south of Salt Lake City, and was founded in 1986.

Sportsman’s Warehouse opened 10 stores in 2021 and announced five for 2022 comprising two in Utah and one each in California, Ohio and Wyoming.

It said it expects seven to 10 new stores in 2022.

Sportsman’s Warehouse has one Florida store in Lady Lake north of Orlando.

The company describes itself as a high-growth outdoor specialty retailer “focused on meeting the everyday needs of the seasoned outdoor veteran, the first-time participant, and everyone in between.”

Eric Yi



Prior to joining Colliers, Eric was a Senior Associate in the retail division at NAI Hallmark. He specializes in landlord and seller representation, and has also executed investment sales of multi tenanted retail properties. In his 7 years in the industry, he has overseen a portfolio of over 2 million square feet of retail and mixed use properties.
