Eric Bumgarner Awarded CCIM Designation April 2 in San Antonio

Bumgarner among 167 individuals who earned commercial real estate's global standard for professional achievement

Jacksonville, FL, April 30, 2019 – Eric Bumgarner, CCIM - Senior Director at Colliers International | Northeast Florida, recently received the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation from CCIM Institute. The designation was awarded during the organization’s Midyear Governance Meetings in San Antonio on April 2.

Bumgarner was among the 167 commercial real estate professionals who earned the designation by passing CCIM Institute’s comprehensive examination, the capstone element in the designation process. This new group of CCIM designees hails from 34 U.S. states, Washington, D.C., as well as Canada and Mexico.

“I started my commercial real estate career in 2012 with very little knowledge about the industry. I figured out early on, that if I wanted to be one of the best, I better have some of the best education and knowledge to help support my efforts. It’s from that point on that I knew I needed to earn my CCIM designation, which is the industry’s most prestigious professional designation a broker can earn. After nearly three years of fitting the required CCIM coursework into my already hectic schedule, submitting my portfolio of transactions and then sitting for the grueling six-hour exam; it was a true sense of accomplishment to have finally earned the right to be called a CCIM. It’s not about what’s at the finish line, but rather the journey it takes to get there. Now that I’ve earned the CCIM designation, I now feel my journey has just begun.” – Eric Bumgarner, CCIM

To earn the CCIM designation, commercial real estate professionals must complete more than 160 hours of case-study driven education covering topics such as interest-based negotiation, financial analysis, market analysis, user decision analysis, investment analysis, and ethics in commercial investment real estate. Candidates must also compile a portfolio demonstrating the depth of their commercial real estate experience and pass a comprehensive examination.

Leading the Bumgarner Industrial Team, Eric focuses his efforts primarily on the disposition of industrial business parks, single tenant net leased industrial and in self-storage facilities.  The team’s brokerage activities include both seller/landlord representation and buyer/tenant representation. Eric has closed over $110M in transactions totaling approximately 3.1M square feet.
