Robert Alinger

Principal & Director

Houston

Robert Alinger specializes in the leasing, disposition, acquisition, and site selection of industrial land, industrial, and distribution properties in Houston and the greater gulf coast region. His expertise with site entitlements, new development, and project leasing has established his reputation as a leading service provider to the industrial development community. Robert also has a unique understanding of rail served properties. In the last five years he has completed the sale of 1,800 acres of rail served land and the leasing and disposition of 3.5M square feet of rail served buildings.

Mr. Alinger joined Colliers in 2019, was named Principal in 2020, and elected to the Board of Directors in 2021. In his first three years with Colliers, he completed more than $500 million in transactions and was the 2021 Top Producer in the Houston office during the companies highest grossing year. Since 2016, Robert represented National Property Holdings, a Houston based Industrial Development Firm, in the acquisition of 20 tracts of land, totaling more than 1,550 acres. He facilitated the development and leasing of these business parks, and currently represents their growing portfolio of more than 8.5M square feet of Class A industrial space.

Mr. Alinger is a native Texan and was born in Houston. He began his real estate career in 2006 after graduating from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management.

Elena Bakina

Senior Vice President

Elena's area of expertise is in the healthcare and senior housing sectors of real estate. She also has experience in corporate office, life science, retail, land transactions and investment sales. Her clients include physicians, multispecialty groups, hospitals, developers, senior housing operators and owners in addition to private investors. Prior to joining Colliers in 2014, Elena was a Senior Healthcare Real Estate Advisor with Coldwell Banker Commercial Healthcare Services Group. Elena's past career as a cancer research scientist with the world’s best cancer centers and research institutions has led her to choose her core areas of specialization. Being actively involved with the healthcare industry through the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), helps her to stay updated with the needs of this industry and to better serve her clients.

The most rewarding part of her job is developing relationships with clients and gaining their trust and confidence as their real estate advisor. In regards to real estate transactions, what she enjoy most of all is research, analysis and negotiations.

Prior to moving to the Houston area, Elena lived in many Asian and European countries, which helped her develop a deep understanding of various cultures. Elena enjoys serving Houston’s multicultural community. She  also attended EXPO REAL in Germany several times to promote acquisition opportunities to foreign markets.

Walker Barnett

Principal & Director

Houston

Walker focuses primarily on industrial real estate sale and lease transactions involving warehouses, manufacturing facilities and land in the greater Houston area. He was named Principal in 2010, and was elected as a Director in 2013. He serves on the firm’s Governance Committee. He also leads the industrial division of the firm, a group comprised of 28 industrial real estate specialists. He has demonstrated consistent leadership in revenue production and has been recognized as a regular top ten performer in Houston. Walker has also achieved revenue performance in the top 10% of all Colliers offices worldwide.

Prior to joining Colliers, he graduated from the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management at Rice University in 2002. While earning an MBA, he worked for FedEx in Hong Kong. Prior to graduate school, Mr. Barnett served for four years on the legislative staff of United States Senator Bill Frist in Washington, DC. 

He graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1996.

Bill Byrd

Mr. Byrd joined Colliers in 1997 after eight years with Insignia/Paragon Group, Inc. where he served various capacities including Director of Property Management, Director of Corporate Services and Director of Land Division.  Prior to joining Paragon Commercial Group, Inc. in June 1989, Mr. Byrd served as Vice President for Brookhollow Corporation in its Greensboro, North Carolina and Houston, Texas offices.  While Mr. Byrd was with Brookhollow Corporation, his responsibilities included overall marketing, management, construction and planning of Brookhollow’s properties which consisted of office, retail and land developments.  His real estate experience also includes the feasibility analysis, planning and construction of three mixed- use land developments totaling more than 750 acres in three states.  In his 26+ years with Colliers, Mr. Byrd has been directly responsible for the marketing, negotiating and closing of more than 500 sales and leasing transactions representing a value in excess of $1.3 billion dollars.

Mr. Fertitta represents clients with a primary focus in occupier advisory and corporate services encompassing the lease, purchase, sale, and structured finance of real property. Charles has over twenty years of experience in the office & industrial sector and represents clients with a local presence as well as clients nationally and internationally.  He is recognized as a tenant representation specialist, offering result driven solutions for users of office and industrial real estate, providing a single end-to-end representation resource for new locations, multi-location, extensions, expansions, and consulting. Clients are able to make smart decisions in the intermodal and multimodal 3PL sector by leveraging his logistics background.

Jay Kyle

Jay Kyle is a Principal and Director of Colliers in Houston, Texas. Jay has more than 20 years of experience in nearly every aspect of the real estate industry, from direct tenant representation to the negotiation of sophisticated investment opportunities on behalf of top tier portfolio managers. Jay’s skills include direct marketing, finance, investments and transaction negotiation and he consistently brings measurable value to his clients. Jay specializes in the areas of tenant representation of office, flex and light industrial transactions, successfully representing an extensive client base in lease transactions, build to suit, building acquisitions and dispositions.

Jay is consistently a top producer at Colliers and in 2009, earned his SIOR designation. The SIOR designation is a professional symbol of the highest level of knowledge, production and ethics. Only 2,800 commercial brokers worldwide have earned this designation and less than 1,000 are Office Specialists.

From 2011 - 2021, Jay was awarded the Colliers Everest Award. Established in 2011, this award is bestowed upon the top 10% of all Colliers International agents in the U.S., Canada & Latin America and recognizes Top Producers in each market based on performance.

John Nicholson

John specializes in industrial representation for logistics companies, manufacturing and corporate user’s of space.  He works with his clients to execute cost reduction strategies, multi-market transactions, site selection, build to suit projects, disposition of surplus property and overall portfolio management.

John has negotiated more than 800 transactions in his career totaling over One Billion dollars in transaction value. Responsible for assuring the client’s interests are represented, John has saved his clients an estimated 20% - 25% in total occupancy cost, as well as mitigating the client’s risk and exposure throughout each transaction.

Before joining Colliers John was President of Douglas Development Partners.

John also served as the Executive Managing Director of Cushman & Wakefield and Senior Vice President at Transwestern during the course of his career.

Prior to the commencement of his commercial real estate career, John was a second round draft pick in the Major League Draft by the Colorado Rockies.

Bob Parsley

Mr. Parsley has been involved in and responsible for all phases of commercial real estate brokerage activity over the past 40 years. A native Houstonian, he returned to Houston after graduating from law school in 1979 to serve as an attorney with Bracewell & Patterson, specializing in corporate law. In 1983, he joined Colliers, where he is one of the company’s principal shareholders. He served as President and CEO of Colliers’ Houston office prior to assuming the position of Co-Chairman in 2004 and Chairman in 2020. He brings a wide range of real estate experience, along with an understanding of the legal issues involved in real estate transactions. He has represented a broad range of corporate clients, both public and private, in office and industrial sales and office tenant rep lease transactions in Houston and throughout the USA. Bob currently serves as a member of Colliers’ Tenant Advisory Council, Healthcare Services Group and Law Firm Services Group. Bob has been one of the top two producers in the Colliers Houston office for the past fifteen years. He has also been a Colliers Everest Award recipient since the inception of the award, which is granted to the top 10% of producers for Colliers in North America. Bob was recognized as a Connect Media CRE 2020 Top Broker with over $403 million of deals executed in 2019, and in 2018 he was recognized as the #2 ranked Heavy Hitter for office tenant representation in the greater Houston area with over $200 million in gross dollar value of deals executed in 2017. The SIOR designation that he carries signifies the highest level of accountability and ethical standards in commercial real estate.

Barkley Peschel

Principal

Mr. Peschel is a multi-disciplined commercial real estate advisor with experience in tenant/buyer representation, relocation/expansion, land acquisition/disposition, and economic incentive negotiations.  He spends most of his time on industrial and land transactions, but given the Colliers network and resources, he’s involved in a variety of deal types including office and investments.  He is surrounded by experts who he partners with depending on the deal.  He stays involved in transactions to bring trust to the client. 

Barkley's clients tell him that they enjoy working with him; that they have a high degree of confidence that he can perform to help them meet their goals; and that they appreciate his resourcefulness and sense of urgency.  Barkley's background in economic development combined with the Colliers process and platform gives him a unique perspective and experience that he uses to meet his clients’ commercial real estate needs.

Barkley is consistently a top producer (Titan) in the Houston office.  In 2015, he was a Colliers' Everest Award recipient. This award is bestowed upon the top 10% of all Colliers brokerage professionals across the United States based on revenue production.
