Growing company, Aztec/Shaffer, turns to Houston as their primary home

Industrial Lease.

Aztec/Shaffer, LLC, whose two divisions are comprised of Aztec Events & Tents and Shaffer Sports & Events, renews and signs new leases totaling 250,697 square feet in Houston, Texas.

Aztec Events & Tents has renewed its 125,697 square foot Houston lease with its landlord at 601 West 6th Street. The landlord was represented by The Deal Company. In addition, Shaffer Sports & Events has relocated to Houston into a renovated multi-tenant 125,000 square foot location at 10901 Tanner Road. Shaffer Sports & Events signed a new long term lease with Exeter 10901 Tanner, LP, who was represented by David Boyd, CCIM, SIOR, Greg Barra, CCIM, SIOR and Wes Williams of Boyd Commercial. The brokerage team of John S. Parsley, SIOR, Gary Mabray, SIOR, and Judd Harrison of Colliers International represented Aztec/Shaffer, LLC in both lease transactions.

“Our team was honored to represent this strong Houston-based client who expanded and relocated an important business unit to Texas, after an extensive evaluation of more than twenty properties in the Northwest and Katy Freeway Submarkets” said John Parsley, SIOR, principal/director. The renewal and search process was conducted over a twelve month period. “Our evaluation and selection process was centered on quality buildings, landlords and transportation logistics” said Judd Harrison, vice president.

Aztec Events & Tents has been a premier party rental and tenting company in Houston for over 30 years, having the largest event rental inventory in the metropolitan area. They have provided services for nationally recognized events such as the Super Bowl and NCAA Final Four, and many city events like the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Offshore Technology Conference, and the Bike MS:  Texas MS 150 annual fundraiser. Their lease renewal in the central Houston region reinforces their continued growth and roots embedded here.

“Our organization’s consolidation of our two key divisions will enable our company to serve our national clients more efficiently and being located in the same marketplace will allow us to leverage our resources" said A. Kelly Williams, managing director, Aztec/Shaffer, LLC.

At the same time, Shaffer Sports & Events moving from the Birmingham, Alabama area to Houston furthers Aztec/Shaffer’s growth in this city. Although Shaffer’s office headquarters have always been in Houston, they have now moved their warehouse space to be located in the same city. Shaffer is the leading event rental company in the sporting industry today. They provide hospitality tents and temporary structures for major sporting events. As the largest vendor for the PGA Tour and other events which include some of golf’s most prestigious events including the Players Championship, the President’s Cup, the WGC – Dell Technologies Match Play, the Houston Open and the Tour Championship, they set themselves apart from other suppliers in the industry. While providing multi-level structures to many annual golf and other sporting events, they leverage more than 50 years of experience to over 150 major events in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

“As a national company, we are excited to bring together our valuable employees in the Houston area and should maximize our customer service, which will benefit our important clients” said A. Kelly Williams, managing director, Aztec/Shaffer, LLC.

As one entity and local consolidation, Aztec/Shaffer will provide even more jobs to the Houston economy.
