Colliers is pleased to announce the recent sale of the commercial condominiums within the famed Ilikai Hotel, located at the entrance of Waikiki.
Colliers represented the seller in the sale to Watumull Properties Corp. The transaction included the Ilikai Shops - 68,674 square feet of retail, a lease with Aqua-Aston (the front-desk operations for the Ilikai Hotel and Luxury Suites), and the 436-stall parking garage.
Soaring to 30 stories with its stunning glass elevator, the 1,009-unit Ilikai is one of Honolulu’s most iconic properties. Developed by the legendary Chinn Ho, the Ilikai is well known throughout Hawaii and the world, having been featured prominently in the opening sequences of the original “Hawaii Five-0” series.
The Ilikai Shops offers a legendary address, a convenient location between Ala Moana and Waikiki, and unsurpassed ocean and mauka views. Only three spaces remain, a rare opportunity to join notable tenants such as Pesca, Cinnamon’s at the Ilikai, and Ku’Ai Market (Food Pantry/Foodland).
The buyer, Watumull Properties Corp. is a local real estate entity that owns commercial properties on all major Hawaiian Islands. The Watumull family was a tenant in the Ilikai during its founding years as an iconic aloha-wear retailer and has since expanded their business to commercial real estate ownership and management. The Watumulls' expertise in local real estate, familiarity with the property, and belief in its potential allowed them to swiftly close the deal by year-end.
