Colliers’ Director Jason Hurst is appointed to the Gainesville City Plan Board

Colliers’ Director Jason Hurst will influence the city's future development while preserving its rich history.

The Gainesville City Plan Board reviews and makes recommendations on petitions that go to the City Commission.

“Gainesville is a city with scenic beauty and a rich tradition,” said Jason Hurst. “I am looking forward to serving the city in this capacity as we seek to preserve the charm of the past while we work to build the future of this great city.”

The seven members of the citizen board are recommended by key influencers and undergo a nomination process by the City Commissioners and the Mayor of the city. An additional non-voting member is appointed by the Alachua County School Board.

According to the Gainesville City Plan Board site, the board considers land use changes, zoning changes, special use permits and reviews text changes to the Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Code.
