Colliers and LCK offices across South Carolina participated in a “Turning the Page on Literacy in South Carolina” United Way campaign to raise dollars, collect books and volunteer for local communities

Charleston/Columbia/Greenville/Spartanburg, SC – Colliers | South Carolina and LCK staff and associates and the companies have pledged $100,000 in contributions to Trident United Way, United Way of the Midlands, United Way of Greenville County and United Way of the Piedmont. The pledges reflect a per capita contribution of $685.

This year, Colliers’ and LCK’s campaign theme was “Turning the Page on Literacy in South Carolina,” a giving campaign aimed at helping young children and older youth who struggle with reading and learning. In addition to dollars raised, the company’s employees collected 1,578 books for local organizations: Trident United Way’s African American Leadership Council in Charleston, United Way of the Midlands’ Be a Book Bunny Initiative and Transitions Homeless Center in Columbia, and Upstate Family Resources & Boys and Girls Club of the Upstate in Greenville and Spartanburg.

Additionally, the company held a Day of Service in which 56 staff members participated for a total of 140 community service hours. The Charleston office gardened with the Green Heart Project, the Columbia office performed yard work for Epworth Children’s Home, and the Greenville and Spartanburg offices recorded a virtual storytime and made Christmas cards for Upstate Family Resources.

“I am incredibly proud of our team members this year for showing just how generous they are,” said John  W. Folsom, President and CEO of Colliers | South Carolina. “At Colliers and LCK, one of our core values is ‘Community’. We show compassion for those in need and we value and respect each others’ differences and individuality. Together, we can take action that will help create better tomorrows by improving health, education and financial stability for our neighbors in need.”

The two-week giving campaign was kicked off by a virtual meeting of the four offices and the release of a video produced in-house that features Colliers and LCK staff.
