Colliers Mortgage is thrilled to welcome affordable housing finance authority Tabaré Borbón

Colliers Mortgage, the debt financing arm of Colliers | U.S., is pleased to announce that long-time affordable housing finance specialist Tabaré Borbón has joined the firm as Senior Vice President, Affordable Production, located in New York where he will focus on originating multifamily affordable housing loans nationwide.

Tabaré's experience and knowledge within the affordable housing space adds to our current team of experts and provides Colliers Mortgage with a strong affordable housing leader in the Northeast region."

Tabaré brings over 30 years' experience to the team and has closed billions in agency loans throughout his career, ranking in the top 10 for Fannie Mae Multifamily Affordable Housing Originators in both 2020 and 2021. Experience in his previous roles includes origination of multifamily affordable loans guaranteed by the Government Sponsored Entities, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, along with multifamily loans through the Federal Housing Administration's (FHA) program. In addition, he originated and developed financing solutions for clients to gain low-cost access to the capital markets through public and private placement of tax-exempt and taxable debt. Tabaré holds a Master of Arts, Public Administration and Bachelor of Arts, Sociology from State University of New York at Stonybrook.
