Colliers Appoints Brokerage Market Leader for Virginia

Jamie Thomas joins the company as Executive Managing Director

Richmond, Virginia, January 9, 2023 – Colliers | U.S. today announced that Jamie Thomas has been appointed Executive Managing Director and Brokerage Market Leader for Virginia. In this role, Thomas will oversee all brokerage operations, recruitment, retention and business development in Richmond, Norfolk, and Charlottesville, VA.

Thomas brings more than 25 years of experience directing commercial real estate operations, including brokerage leadership, property management, asset management and construction project management. Prior to joining Colliers, Thomas led a team of 18 professionals overseeing a large real estate portfolio in the Virginia region at Commonwealth Commercial Partners, LLC. Earlier in his career, he was Managing Partner for GVA Advantis, overseeing brokerage operations in the region. Thomas is an active member of several area Real Estate organizations and is the 2023 President of the Greater Richmond Association for Commercial Real Estate (GRACRE).

As President of Colliers International's Southeast and Mid-Central Regions | US Brokerage, Ryan is responsible for a geography consisting of 30 offices in the Southeast and Mid-Central US. He is responsible for a team of more than 875 personnel including 475+ brokers, 15 Market Leader managers, and 350 employees including a large support team of Marketing, GIS/Research and Market Analytics, Digital Marketing, and Core Marketing personnel. The brokerage teams Ryan is responsible for comprise leasing (landlord and tenant representation) and sale specialists in the areas of office, medical, retail, industrial, land, investment sales, debt/equity mortgage banking, and specialty disciplines, such as multifamily, student housing, hotels, marinas/golf, manufactured housing, tax credit housing, education, and seniors housing. He is the executive sponsor and liaison for Colliers’ Tenant Advisory Council (TAC), an 80-broker team of elite office tenant rep brokers throughout the country.
