Milliman partners with Colliers to develop a project management plan supporting its entrepreneurial culture for its renewed lease in Buckhead.
Milliman decided to renew the lease of its existing office space in Buckhead, Atlanta, GA. With the original office space being built-out more than 15 years ago, the office was in need of major improvements in space, functionality, aesthetics and growth opportunities. Colliers was challenged to develop an office design project supporting Milliman’s entrepreneurial culture while maximizing and completing the project initiative under the building tenant improvement (TI) allowance and lease occupancy schedule. To intensify the challenge, Milliman sought to do all of this during a global pandemic.
Colliers leveraged its industry partners and design with VE options in mind and adapted to the unique challenge of COVID-19 in the same open and collaborative manner as any project challenge. Colliers worked alongside Milliman to identify issues, review the importance, brainstorm solutions and create a strategic action plan for the project. To address the added challenges presented by COVID-19, Colliers implemented a plan that involved social distancing, masked visits, testing, contact tracing and specialized cleaning procedures. Milliman, whose employees were able to work remotely, leveraged virtual meetings, webcam tours and ‘solo’ site visits during the project.
With the help of Colliers, Milliman’s project was completed safely, on-time and under the approved TI allowance. Milliman achieved a renovated office space that supported its entrepreneurial culture by creating workplace solutions tailored to optimizing its diverse practices requirements. The new space created a more socially, visually and physically connected workplace to enhance interactions and lead to better, more effective business strategies. The new space enables Milliman to recognize and foster opportunities for increased collaboration and creates a workplace that will help the firm attract younger talent through a modern, yet welcoming office space. Through its partnership, Colliers was able to deliver an improved work environment, tools and access to resources to optimize each project team’s success and maximize the potential of Milliman’s office space.
