Chicago-area tenants and owners benefit from the experiences of my 35-plus year career in commercial real estate. I have expertise in disciplines as varied as traditional brokerage, investment sales, land development, construction, and property management, which I bring to each assignment.
My unwavering commitment to my clients’ success has enabled organizations such as Willow Chicago, Kronos Foods, and SRAM to achieve their objectives no matter the challenge, and has allowed me to remain a market leader in the industry.
Since joining Colliers International in 1997, I have completed more than 1,000 transactions with a total value exceeding $2 billion.
Prior to joining Colliers, I worked with Grubb & Ellis where I was awarded the firm’s distinguished Senior Marketing Consultant designation within my first year and was a top 20 producer in my third year. Prior to Grubb & Ellis, I was senior vice president of Baird & Warner Company’s Corporate Group, forming the division in 1984. Additionally, I served as vice president and manager of the suburban office of Cushman and Wakefield of Illinois from 1980-1984 and was head of my own firm, Hartford Realty Group, for four years from 1977-1980.
Corporations, institutions and entrepreneurial clients around the world have benefited from my expertise in site selection, sale and lease negotiation for acquisitions and dispositions, financial modeling, cost reduction initiatives and strategic real estate portfolio planning. In addition, I offer my clients extensive experience with the “adaptive reuse” of structures and land sites. My vision for underutilized assets has enabled my clients to either maximize the value of obsolete holdings or secure some of the most unique settings in the Chicago metropolitan area.
My strategic real estate analysis and transaction management expertise helps corporations reduce real estate costs, grow, and become more efficient. I work to ensure my clients’ real estate remains an enabler, rather than a constraint, to their success.
Before joining Colliers, I worked for Grubb & Ellis, where I was named the 1995 Rookie of the Year. This award was in recognition of my commitment to clients and transaction volume during my first full year of employment.
I have been involved in commercial real estate since 1994. In the last five years, I have completed transactions with a value exceeding $500 million.
With a focus on the city of Chicago and north and south suburban markets, I represent corporations, institutions and entrepreneurial clients in the acquisition and disposition of office and industrial space. With more than 10 years of experience in Colliers International’s Industrial Advisory Group, I have successfully completed more than 250 transactions. This vast experience offers my clients extensive market knowledge. Most recently, I helped Corrugated Supplies Corporation with the disposition of a 250,000-square-foot facility.
Prior to joining Colliers and the commercial real estate industry in 1999, I worked as a financial advisor with American Express. As a licensed broker, I assisted clients in managing their finances.
I partner with industry veterans Vern Schultz and Mike Senner at Colliers International in Chicago to provide strategic real estate advice to corporations, landlords, investors and entrepreneurs. I provide clients with skilled guidance on network optimization, portfolio and transaction management.
I began my career at CTK Chicago Partners in 2017. While there, I developed countless long-term relationships and learned how to provide best-in-class service to my clients. I was responsible for the entire process from beginning to end: from sourcing prospects, site selection, to negotiation, and ultimately, successful execution to complete the transaction. Additionally, I created the “Kinzie Report,” a market report that covered the Kinzie Industrial Corridor submarket and was distributed to over 500 businesses in the area.
Companies across the U.S. rely on me to provide with the real estate side of their supply chain, where I assist them with the acquisition of ‘mission-critical’ distribution facilities. I also work on industrial real estate projects in the greater Chicago area – specifically along the I-55, I-80, and I-88 Corridors – representing tenants, as well as developers and property owners, in the sale leasing of industrial real estate facilities.
At Colliers International, I am a senior vice president within the Industrial Advisory Group and a founding member of the Colliers Logistics and Transportation Solutions Group.
With more than 20 years of experience, I am highly-skilled in all facets of the corporate real estate process. I have been nicknamed “The Elephant Killer” by my peers, a reference to my ability to complete very large and challenging transactions.
I have worked with the Illinois Office of Real Estate Research on valuation projects, and my articles and columns are regularly published in academic and trade journals.
Prior to joining Colliers in 1997, I was president of my family real estate firm in downstate Illinois.
I team with Colliers International industrial brokers to provide supply chain consulting services ranging from strategic capability assessments and development to operational guidance on inventory management, transportation, procurement, and omni-channel distribution network optimization.
Prior to joining Colliers, I was the senior vice president of supply chain transformation at Newell Brands, where I focused on distribution and transportation optimization as well as optimal network design across a $15 billion portfolio of more than 130 brands.
Before Newell Brands, I spent 15 years at Walgreens Boots Alliance, most recently as the group vice president of Supply Chain Strategy and Retail Transformation. Previous roles included group vice president of global inventory and transportation, head of corporate supply chain functions, and leader of the logistics and distribution engineering and technology group. I worked with the team at Walgreens to build a world-class distribution network to support a six-fold growth in store count over a 10-year period.
I also worked in the Management Consulting Practice at Cap Gemini and Ernst & Young for eight years prior to joining Walgreens Boots Alliance, where I deployed process and technology optimization solutions for leading global retail and consumer packaged goods companies.
With nearly 25 years of large-scale supply chain expertise, I bring to bear a relevant and impactful blend of roles and experience to help companies leverage supply chain as a strategic differentiator and a competitive advantage.
