Accomplishments
Prior to joining Colliers, Mr. Simel was Senior Managing Director for Handler Real Estate Services in New York. Preceding his position with Handler, he held the position of Vice President at CB Richard Ellis for ten years. While there, he represented many prestigious law firms including Akin Gump Strauss Hauer and Feld in its disposition of space at 590 Madison Avenue and acquisition of space in the Steinway Building. Additionally, he represented financial service firms and apparel and fashion brands, including Bergdorf Goodman for its executive offices at 625 Madison Avenue (28,500 sf for a twenty-year term) and Investec Ernst & Co. for 45,000 square feet at the Chrysler Building. Mr. Simel’s current clients include Sun Capital Partners, Tikehau Capital, Roy P Kozuspky, Esq., Gregory P Joseph, Esq., Amlon Resources, Meyer Souzi English & Klein and Tata Communications.
As a result of these successful assignments, Mr. Simel bases his practice on cultivating exclusive and long-term relationships with clients and local owners.
Prior to joining the real estate industry, he was a successful entrepreneur in the fashion industry and was founder and CEO of PHD Inc., a multi-line show room that imported and distributed leading fashion brands from Europe. He also founded the “Laundry Industry” store in Soho.
