Professional Summary
As a market-driving commercial real estate advisor working alongside industry veteran David Bercu, Michael has become an industrial real estate emerging leader at Colliers since integrating into the platform in 2019.
Michael guides his clients in framing unique strategies for mapping their real estate journeys, using proven and measurable systems.
Involved in a myriad of different style projects, Michael is highly versed in serving Chicago’s greater metropolitan market, with an emphasis on the Central DuPage, O'Hare, and I-55 submarkets. His transaction experience includes both the tenant and landlord sides, offering a robust suite of services including leasing, dispositions, acquisitions, land identification, and tenant representation.
Michael holds a high value on long-term client relationships. His approach is consultative and allows his clients to uncover their current reality and the path toward achieving their desired reality. His intention in all aspects of his consultative efforts is to be a true partner, an extension of the Clients’ operation, and to eliminate his client’s fears about traversing the real estate market.
In a former role as an Asset Manager and client liaison with Waveland Property Group, Inc., Michael primarily served private, institutional and REIT investors. Michael’s knowledge of mechanical systems, construction management, and lease administration has immensely helped hone his skills in brokerage, while strengthening his ability to protect his clients’ commercial assets.

My Team
Concentrating on the suburban Chicago industrial market, I represent major developers, institutions and corporations in the acquisition, leasing, construction and disposition of industrial real estate. I have completed industrial transactions with a value exceeding $2.5 billion, resulting in my recognition as a Colliers top producer on numerous occasions.
With 32 years' experience, I enjoy sharing my knowledge by speaking at industry events and serving as a trusted source for the media, both web and print. I collaborate with Crain’s Chicago Business on a quarterly industrial market perspective and have been a regular guest on the publication’s “Chicago Business Today” webcast. I am a member of the SIOR faculty teaching Real Estate Ethics.
At Colliers, I am a principal of the firm and serve on the Executive Committee. I previously served on the Colliers USA Board of Directors and the Colliers USA Industrial Advisory Board. I served as a fee advisor for Walton Street Capital on its $2.7-billion purchase of the 23 million-square-foot CalWest industrial portfolio from RREEF in spring 2007.
