Chief Human Resources | Operations Officer
Mary Chan serves as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for Colliers Greater Philadelphia region. In her current role, Ms. Chan is responsible for leading the region's overall human resources strategy, which consists of risk mitigation, talent acquisition, leadership development, diversity and inclusion, organizational design and cultural development, employee education and development, compensation and benefits, HR operations and technology, employee relations, and security.
As CHRO, Ms. Chan has changed the function, culture, and impact of HR across the company to support its business goals and strategies. She has worked with leaders across many disciplines of businesses to build and manage an HR organization that reflects and supports their business needs.
Ms. Chan has spearheaded more effective and streamlined HR operation functions that better utilize technology. Ms. Chan has also harmonized compensation and benefits programs across the company and has improved the comprehensive talent management and talent development programs. Ms. Chan has transformed the regional HR structure to include centers of excellence and segment-specific support for all employees. This has resulted in greater accountability, stronger collaboration among businesses, improved efficiency, and increased effectiveness in meeting both business needs and company-wide vision.
Prior to joining Colliers, Ms. Chan was the CEO and founder of Chan Consulting, where she was responsible for helping organizations develop Business and HR programs that aligned with their business needs. Her work experience expands over 20 years in HR operations and defense Labor and Employment litigation matters.
Under Ms. Chan’s leadership at Colliers, the company was named the “Best of Workplace” for several years consecutively and is continually listed as one of the top five Brokerage firms by the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Ms. Chan’s achievement includes the HR Excellence of the Year award by SHRM and honored by the Philadelphia Business Journal as a Minority Business Leader and Insight Philadelphia Leader. Ms. Chan has been a keynote speaker with SHRM, HR Management Institute, Chamber of Commerce, and Business Journals on several HR topics.
