Marcus has more than 30 years of real estate experience and is a recognized leader in our industry. He specializes in strategic planning and execution for tenants and has completed transactions for more than 9 million square feet of space in New York alone.

 Prior to joining Colliers, Marcus was a Managing Principal of Cresa from 2001 to 2014. He began his career in the United Kingdom as a Chartered Surveyor with Weatherall Green & Smith (now BNP Paribas Real Estate).  He relocated to New York City in 1987 to manage its U.S. business before merging with Cresa. He went onto build Cresa’s tenant representation business in New York from the ground up to approximately 40 employees by the end of 2014.

Accomplishments

Marcus is an established commentator on the New York market and CRE issues for NBC, Bloomberg News, NY Times (“Deal Maker” profile), Wall Street Journal, Real Estate Weekly (“Mastermind”), and Business Insider.

He is an active member and leader of Cornet Global, currently serving as the New York Chapter Board Advisor and member of the Global Issues Advocacy Group. He previously served as a Global Board member (2014-2015) and New York Chapter Chair/President/VP/Secretary (2009-2012). Additionally, Marcus was a member of REBNY’s Commercial Board of Directors (2011-2014).

Education

Marcus holds a BSc in Estate Management from Oxford Brooks University and is Qualified as an Associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (ARICS).
