As President & CEO of Colliers in Philadelphia, Doug is both a steward of a nearly 100 year old tradition – and a catalyst for its future. Driven by a credo of “if you’re not changing you’re not growing,” Doug continually seeks ways to add value to the firm and remain competitive in the face of industry disruption. His oversight encompasses development of services, specialties, resources and talent. Personally, he finds reward in cultivating a familial culture and environment where people can access top level resources, follow their passions, collaborate and develop to their fullest potential – critical contributors to our clients’ success.
Known for his keen sense of intuition and an ability to see where opportunities lie, Doug began in a brokerage role with Lanard & Axilbund, advanced to become its President & CEO in 1991, and was the driving force in the firm’s affiliation with Colliers International in 1994. Under his tenure, new offices have opened in Mount Laurel, NJ, Allentown, PA, Conshohocken, PA, Harrisburg, PA and Wilmington, DE. Doug is also credited with expanding the firm’s range of services to include office, industrial, retail and investment brokerage, property management, not for profit, corporate solutions, seniors housing and valuation.
The end result is our firm’s position today in Philadelphia – that of a top three global commercial real estate provider offering a comprehensive line of services but with a uniquely home grown feel. Among our competition, we deliver a differentiated level of service that is entrepreneurial, locally serviced, and personable.
Doug is a committed leader in the Philadelphia community, from professional organizations to charitable and educational causes. He has been president of the Commercial and Industrial Division of The Greater Philadelphia Board of Realtors, a charter member of the University of Pennsylvania Real Estate Society, an officer in the Philadelphia Chapter of SIOR, and president of TriState Realtors Commercial Alliance. He is also the current president of the Har Zion Men’s Club and a patron of the National Museum of Jewish History.
Amongst his many accolades, Doug has also been recognized as Philadelphia Business Journal’s “Most Admired CEO” for his leadership and innovation, and Philadelphia Inquirer’s “Influencer of Real Estate” for his role in shaping the industry.
