Doug Ryan joined the Colliers team in November 2014 bringing with him more than 20 years of broad-based commercial real estate experience.
As Executive Vice President in Office Brokerage, Doug provides landlord and tenant representation with a focus on serving clients as a trusted advisor, navigating the complexities of real estate transactions and bringing clarity to corporate leases. With partners Janet Sterchi, Executive Vice President, and Richard Rieck, Senior Associate, they are widely recognized among the top brokerage teams and advisors in Nashville’s commercial real estate industry. Doug and Janet have both independently received NAIOP’s Nashville Broker of the Year Award.
Previously, Doug worked for CBRE as First Vice President specializing in landlord and tenant representation for office product. Before joining CBRE, Doug owned his own real estate consulting practice where he advised corporate clients on the development, planning, entitlements, and zoning processes of their projects. He also provided services for office leasing, retail leasing and land sales. Prior experience includes working for Cushman and Wakefield’s Office Services Group in Detroit, Michigan.
Doug holds a Master’s in Urban Planning from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Rich Rieck joined the Colliers Nashville office in 2021, partnering with industry veterans Doug Ryan, Executive Vice President & Partner, and Janet Sterchi, Executive Vice President & Partner. The team specializes in providing brokerage representation for tenants and landlords of office products. Rich focuses on office products in the Nashville urban core and submarket areas. He serves a nationwide client base as a trusted advisor, navigating the complexities of real estate transactions and bringing clarity to corporate leases.
Before joining the Colliers Nashville office, Rich practiced law in the commercial real estate and financial services practice group at Maynard Cooper & Gale, PC. While at Maynard Cooper, he specialized in real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and leasing. Prior to joining Maynard Cooper & Gale, PC, Rich practiced as an associate attorney at Chapman & Rosenthal Title, Inc. In this role, Rich worked on dozens of commercial purchase and sale transactions in addition to performing over seven hundred residential closings in the greater Nashville market.
A native of Franklin, Tennessee, Rich is a graduate of Battle Ground Academy. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Mississippi and his Juris Doctor from Belmont University College of Law.
Melanie Tigrett joined the top-producing office brokerage team of Colliers Nashville with extensive knowledge and experience in contract negotiations, transaction advisory for acquisition and disposition services, landlord and tenant representation, and financing coordination. The team specializes in representation for landlords and tenants of traditional, creative, and re-adaptive space throughout the Nashville ten-county region while serving a nationwide client base. Tigrett proves to be a vital asset to the team as her experience in comprehensive commercial real estate financing provides her with in-depth knowledge for navigating the complexities of a real estate transaction.
Before joining Colliers Nashville, Tigrett was a commercial real estate agent for Slovis & Associates, LLC, in Memphis, TN. During her tenure with Slovis, Tigrett developed a broad-based clientele and negotiated sales of well over $50 million worth of commercial real estate.
Prior experience includes working as a commercial real estate lender with Regions Bank, where Tigrett completed commercial real estate transactions incorporating tax credit facilitation and bond issuances.
Janet is consistently among the top brokers in the Nashville market. In her 23 years in the industry, 17 with CBRE and 6+ with Colliers Nashville, Janet has focused on representing both tenants and landlords in multimarkets and in Nashville. She has received numerous awards, including: the CBRE most distinguished Colbert Coldwell Circle, NAIOP Office Broker of the Year and multiple Office Leases of the Year and Top Producer awards.
In 2011, Janet formed an office brokerage team with Doug Ryan, whose expertise includes brokerage, development, architecture and urban planning. Their team goal is to serve as the client’s trusted advisor to navigate the complexities of real estate transactions bringing clarity and experience to negotiations. Through extensive market knowledge, negotiation skills, financial analysis capabilities and strategy around navigating approval processes and relationships, their team is recognized as one of the top leasing teams in Middle Tennessee.
