As Managing Director and market leader in the Portland, OR & Vancouver, WA metro area for Colliers International, David Kotansky is responsible for the operation of all Colliers service disciplines, including office, industrial, retail, multifamily and investment brokerage. Additionally, he oversees the property management business that currently has over 8.5 million square feet. The Colliers Portland office has been named one of Oregon’s Most Admired Companies by the Portland Business Journal on multiple occasions.
David leads with a team-oriented mindset and is a natural coach as he strives to elevate those around him who seek growth. He firmly believes in and stands behind the people he has hired on his team. While providing space and time for employees to learn their position, he is very encouraging to all employees and personally coaches the entire team.
David is responsible for oversight of the Colliers International Portland/Vancouver office that includes 55 people on the brokerage side and 23 for property management. His focus is to drive revenue growth for the office through recruiting, retention, collaboration, and by helping drive a fun and energetic culture that allows people to maximize their talents. He has trust and faith in those he oversees. This form of management encourages self-confidence in his team.
David’s passion for his clients, along with his attention to detail and unique approach, have been key in his ability to lead the market in large transactions. Creating broker/client experiences is important to him. His extensive market knowledge and commitment to achieve and exceed objectives make him invaluable to his clients and his ability to routinely “over-service” them is one of the reasons he continually outperforms his competition.
Accomplishments
He has had asset management responsibilities for an 18 million square feet portfolio between Oregon and Washington and has developed 400,000 square feet of industrial product in Portland, OR.
Named Co-Head of US Capital Markets Business in 2019.
