I started in real estate in 1996 as a customer service representative at Edward Surovell Realtors, a local residential real estate company (now Howard Hanna). From there I obtained my license and worked full-time as an assistant until I moved into processing closings at Surovell Title. From 2009-October 2019, I was the office manager for a top residential Realtor in Ann Arbor who did over 76 million in sales and 157 transactions in 2019.

Prior to working in commercial real estate, Jim spent years working for and managing his family’s beer distributorship, which serviced retailers in Washtenaw and Livingston County. This experience has been a boon to Jim’s land work, giving him an understanding of not only the importance of land and location, but class A roads, shipping logistics, etc. It has also given Jim a working knowledge of layout and flow of warehouse space.
Lifelong career as former partner in commerical real estate leasehold properties. Former national wholesale distribution franchisee. Served on township zoning board of appeals.
