About
Professional Summary
Ben has spent his entire professional career, over 20 years, focused on the valuation of agricultural property. He is an Accredited Rural Appraiser (ARA) as awarded by the ASFMRA. As fourth generation in agriculture, and a farmer himself, his understanding of farm economics runs deep and true. Raised in California's fertile San Joaquin Valley, Ben's experience with the complexities of water and permanent crops like wine grapes, almonds, pistachios, hazelnuts, stone fruit, apples, table grapes, and blueberries is extensive. Ben has appraised hundreds of farms, ranches, orchards, vineyards, wineries, dairies, and other facilities for lenders, attorneys, accountants, governments, public utilities, institutional investors, and private landowners. His midwestern roots, as a native of Missouri, adds perspective to the lands and people that produce the world's food. The growing Colliers agriculture specialty practice, led by Ben, now regularly covers California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Hawaii, Colorado, and Utah, with projects in other regions by special request and active expansion.
