With more than 20 years of experience in commercial real estate, Achikam has focused on the education sector for the last six years, helping his clients add value through his deep understanding of this very specialized asset class. He facilitated a landmark charter school transaction in 2016 with the sale of a five school portfolio, totaling 295,992 square feet across 40 acres in Florida. Since 2014 Achikam has close over $150 million in education transactions.
Over the course of his career, he has negotiated and closed over $600 million in transactions. Achikam’s thorough understanding of the market paired with strong national relationships have helped his clients achieve the exposure to key players necessary maximize value. As an Associate within the Education Services Group, I bring a strong foundation of real estate and organizational leadership from my previous work experiences throughout Puerto Rico and Florida. Through my partnership with Senior Director Achikam Yogev and Colliers’ Education Services Group, I am able to focus on helping clients to achieve high returns on investment and enhanced cost per share through the real estate process.
My strong operational and communication skills, in addition to first-hand business experience within Puerto Rico and the South Florida markets, create a distinct advantage for my clients, enabling proactive transaction management through keen market knowledge and streamlining all necessary reporting.
Through my Colliers’ consulting work with the Puerto Rico Department of Education, I have succeeded in driving the overall Project Management of the consolidation of the school regions on the island of Puerto Rico, creating value through strategic location analyses and cost-savings estimates.
Senior Client Services Coordinator
Melissa works with brokers in the Miami office to create high-quality marketing pieces, proposals and presentations for properties throughout South Florida. She is responsible for the day-to-day production of property marketing, flyers, advertising, market research and lease transaction coordination. Additionally, she specializes in layout design and creating detailed maps and graphics using software such as Indesign and Illustrator.
She began her career as a copy editor and front page designer at Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers and worked there for more than nine years.
Prior to joining Colliers, she was the communications specialist at United HomeCare, a nonprofit organization that provides services to seniors to help them remain at home. Along with office communications, she provided graphic design services for the nonprofit. Her previous background also includes a position as marketing coordinator at Transwestern, providing services to more than 10 brokers in their Miami office. Prior to this role, she served as a proposal coordinator for The GEO Group in Boca Raton, a leading provider of correctional, detention and community reentry services.
