Senior Vice President
Joe has been in Commercial Real Estate for almost 30 years, 12 years of which he has spent at Colliers | Wisconsin. Joe joined Colliers as a broker on the Investment Sales Team in 2008, specializing in Multifamily Investment, Development Land and Adaptive Reuse/Distressed Assets.
Joe graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Liberal Arts in 1989. Prior to joining Colliers, he began his career selling residential new construction before progressing into land acquisition, entitlement and project management. He then spent several years consulting for lenders and special servicers as they navigated distressed development projects during the Great Recession.
Thanks to his multifaceted skillset and experience within the industry, Joe has earned his Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation. This accomplishment further solidifies his industry prowess and aids in his ability to navigate complex transactions. Those that hold the CCIM designation are recognized as leading experts in commercial investment real estate – a merited description considering the service and insight Joe provides to his clients.
With a passion for mentorship and sharing his experience, Joe serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Marquette University Center for Real Estate. Working with both sophomores and juniors, Joe focuses on cultivating interest and understanding of the Commercial Real Estate industry. Additionally, Joe acts as a mentor with the Pewaukee School District’s InSight program. He maintains an advisory role within the program, working to guide and educate the less experienced members.
Joe is also part of the Colliers National Multifamily Practice Group; a collaboration of Multifamily Investment Professional sharing resources and knowledge to better serve their client’s needs. His ability to identify opportunities for his clients and always prioritize their objectives have helped build strong partner-relationships for our firm.
Experienced Executive Vice President with a history of working with financial institutions on all facets of commercial assets. Skilled in real estate analysis for banks and credit unions: branch network optimization, disposition, expansion, relocation, rightsizing, sale-leaseback, real estate impact for potential M&A deals, short sales, receivership and REO sales.
Over his career, Chris Richards has been involved in nearly every facet of the commercial real estate business; from property management, to brokerage, to development. This diverse experience has created a unique combination of market expertise, analytical skills, deal making and customer service.
Chris has been the recipient of three (3) Commercial Brokers Group Deal of the Year Awards since 2014.
Currently, Chris leads the Colliers | Wisconsin Madison office, acting as managing director. With experience in virtually every facet of commercial real estate, as well as his knowledge of the Madison market, Chris is an invaluable asset to the Colliers | Wisconsin team.
Chris works diligently on behalf of his clients blending strong communication skills with a nearly unmatched knowledge of the marketplace.
Senior Vice President
Tammy Babisch has over twenty-five years of commercial real estate experience and most recently was the General Manager for 100 East Wisconsin Avenue. Prior to that, Tammy worked for Reit Management and Research (RMR) as a General Manager responsible for a portfolio of class A office product, including Milwaukee Center, 100 East Wisconsin Avenue, a single story, single tenant suburban property and a portfolio of medical office buildings throughout southeastern Wisconsin. Prior to joining RMR, Tammy was employed by Transwestern where she managed both downtown, high rise office product and suburban product in the metro-Milwaukee area. Ms. Babisch was formerly the Senior Vice President and Director of Property Management for Great Lakes REIT, a publicly-traded real estate investment trust which owned and managed 37 office properties aggregating 5.4 million square feet of space primarily in the upper Midwest. Ms. Babisch worked for Great Lakes REIT from 1998 to 2004. Transwestern acquired Great Lakes REIT in 2004.
From 1993 to 1997, Ms. Babisch was employed by the John Buck Company as the Operations Manager for Milwaukee Center. From 1990 to 1993, she worked for both the Trammell Crow Company and Compass Management and Leasing as an assistant building manager of U.S. Bank Center, a 1.3 million square foot class A property in downtown Milwaukee.
Mike has been instrumental in growing the Colliers | Wisconsin office to be one of the largest full service real estate companies in Wisconsin employing nearly 200 employees with operations in Milwaukee, Madison and Fox Valley.
Mike recently stepped down from his role as president of Colliers | Wisconsin, and over the past 20+ years, has completed nearly 700 transactions worth $600 Million Dollars throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota. Mike remains active in both the organization and commercial real estate community, serving as Past President of the Building Owners and Managers Association of Wisconsin (BOMA-WI) and is currently a Board Member of the Commercial Association of Realtors – Wisconsin (CARW).
