Where does alpha lurk in today’s CRE market?

CRE report website luke dawson hero

Commercial real estate investment sales are really the market’s assessment of all the main touchpoints of a property’s past and future. Has the right mix of tenants been selected? Has the property been properly cared for? Is the design attractive? Is it in the right location? The result of all these questions (and more) is the purchase price, which even then is highly subjective. As the saying goes, one person’s trash is another’s treasure.

This assessment process seems to become more complex every year, as new factors and considerations arise. Given that real estate is fundamentally a long-term investment class, the ability to predict which of these factors will be most relevant in the future is where value truly lies. In our ‘CRE - Our industry today, tomorrow & beyond’ report I zero in on where investors should look for value in an increasingly complex, and crowded, CRE landscape.
