Setting the bar for ESG decision-making

CRE report website richard bruce hero

With more than 15,000 people globally at Colliers, and the privilege of serving a world-class client base, we have an opportunity – and a responsibility – to build for our collective future. This includes fostering environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategies that align our business to maximise our positive impact.

ESG is the blueprint for doing what’s right, one of our core values at Colliers. Throughout the pandemic we have worked closely with leaders across our organisation to put in place corporate policies, guidelines, and training to keep our people well protected. In addition, we transitioned seamlessly to more flexible work arrangements enabled by best-in-class technology, services, and support.

In our ‘CRE - Our industry today, tomorrow & beyond’ report I write that as the costs of failure to address climate and health challenges become more apparent, a broader consensus has emerged on the urgency of environmental, sustainability and governance goals.

I began my career in 2000 and spent fifteen years in the City of London working in a variety of leading professional services firms. Starting in project, programme and change management with Hewlett Packard at the time of the HP / Compaq merger. Then financial services (JP Morgan) during the the mid 2000's. Lastly, the legal world for an extended period where I worked with global firms during a time of unprecedented change in terms of client demands, deregulation, competition, M&A and technology developments. Against this varied backdrop, delivering change, integration and making "2+2=5" has been the constant.
