EMEA Conference 2019 | Orchestrate Your Success | Vienna

Last week we welcomed over 300 colleagues from 40 countries to our bi-annual EMEA Conference in Vienna – the city of music. It’s always a special week, where we take time out to collaborate and socialise with colleagues from across borders in a way that we don’t get to on a very regular basis.

This year’s conference was one of our most successful to date and as we approach the end of our current Enterprise Plan – through which we pledged to double the size of our company by 2020 – it was fantastic to take stock of our achievements as a business and celebrate together the successes we have worked hard to realise over the last five years.

Since our last EMEA Conference in 2017, we have completed five major acquisitions; strengthening our expertise in Spain, Germany, Denmark, Finland and Sweden. Whilst also growing organically, with new office openings in Cologne, Leipzig, Nuremberg, Cardiff, Sheffield, Valencia and the City of London.

We now operate from 119 offices across 42 countries, and employ over 4,000 professionals across the region. Colliers has grown to become one of only five global players and is the fastest growing global real estate company. The possibilities for further growth are unlimited and our track record continues to position us well for the future. 

The agenda for the two day conference was jam-packed with leadership and core team strategy meetings and it was inspiring to see such great collaboration between colleagues across various countries, all working together to accelerate the success of our business and our clients.

It wasn’t all hard work however, the conference culminated with the EMEA Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony, which is our opportunity to recognise the outstanding achievements, contributions and spirit demonstrated by our colleagues across the region, who go above and beyond for Colliers every day. This year was a record year for the number of entries and it was great to see so many individuals embodying the Colliers values and creating memorable experiences for our clients and colleagues.

And this year felt even more momentous, as it coincided with the launch of our new global Brand Story. In an industry with massive potential, our growth comes not only from our expertise in real estate, but also from how well we are understood by the market. So it was exciting to have the opportunity to present our newly established global Brand Story and values to our EMEA collegiate, to further highlight the power of our global platform and bring home the importance of consistency of language when our people are interacting with someone on behalf of Colliers. This consistent message will help stakeholders fully understand who we are, what we do and how we are different, as we work collectively to maximise the potential of property, wherever our clients do business.

Earlier, he built and led Colliers’ Latin America business and was one of the top producers in Canada when he joined Colliers in 1987 as an office leasing advisor in Toronto.

Throughout his career, Chris has delivered exceptional service, fulfilling the real estate needs of major corporations such as Nortel, FedEx, Oracle, Cisco Systems, Compaq, Dun & Bradstreet, Ford Motor Land, and Microsoft.
