Colliers strengthens Occupier Services and Industrial Advisory offering in Asia

Colliers expands its Occupier Services and Industrial Advisory capabilities with several key appointments and promotions in Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan and Korea.

HONG KONG, 27 April 2021 –
Leading diversified professional services and investment management firm Colliers (NASDAQ and TSX: CIGI) today announced six key appointments and four promotions within the Occupier Services team, effectively immediately.

These strategic appointments and promotions demonstrate Colliers’ commitment to deliver market-leading solutions to clients to accelerate their success.

Hideki Maruyama has been appointed Executive Director & Head of Occupier Services | Japan. Based in Tokyo, Maruyama brings with him 26 years of real estate experience and is tasked with leading the Occupier Services business in Japan, driving revenue through business development and leveraging an integrated approach to client engagement. One of Maruyama’s key priorities is the creation of a client engagement strategy to build strong relationships and financial opportunities in the Japanese market, while growing existing partnerships and attracting market-leading talent to Colliers.

Based in Singapore, June Chua and Tridiana Ong have been hired as Executive Director, Head of Tenant Representation | Singapore and Executive Director, Tenant Representation | Singapore, respectively. Chua has over 30 years of experience in commercial real estate and is responsible for leading the Colliers Tenant Representation team within Occupier Services, with a focus on growing the firm’s market share in representing tenants’ space requirements in office, business park, industrial and retail. Ong brings with her more than 14 years of commercial real estate experience and has a proven track record in providing strategic transaction advisory services to corporate occupier clients.

Also based in Singapore, Lynus Pook has been appointed as Senior Director, Regional Industrial Advisory | Asia. Pook is tasked with identifying new business opportunities and developing relationships with industrial owners, occupiers, developers and investors as part of the regional industrial advisory platform. With more than 15 years of real estate experience, Pook is a Certified Data Centre Specialist with a proven track record in Industrial brokerage.

Earlier this year, Colliers promoted Bastiaan van Beijsterveldt to Executive Director & Head of Occupier Services | Singapore. Van Beijsterveldt has more than 11 years of experience in commercial real estate – including tenant representation, corporate solutions, as well as capital markets and investment services – across key gateway cities in Asia Pacific. In his new capacity, he is now responsible for driving greater performance, recruiting talent and strengthening the Occupier Services business in Singapore.

Based in Seoul, Jay Cho has been promoted to Senior Director, Office & Industrial Services | Korea. Cho is tasked with growing the office services and industrial business in Korea. With more than 14 years of industry experience, he has been an integral part of the success of the Office Services business over the last few years and has closed some of the largest transactions in the market.

Colliers also recently promoted real estate veterans Chris Currie and Rakesh Kunhiraman to Head of Occupier Services | Hong Kong and Head of Occupier Research | Asia, respectively. Currie, who has more than 16 years of industry experience, is responsible for integrating correlating lines of business to create an Occupier Services offering in Hong Kong, which includes Office Services, Project Management and Industrial Services. Based in Singapore and with more than 17 years of experience, Kunhiraman will be partnering with the Asia Occupier Services and Research teams to deliver industry leading reports, thought leadership and enterprising insights to Colliers’ commercial real estate occupier clients across Asia.

In addition to Currie’s promotion, John Davies and Terry Shum have also joined the Hong Kong Occupier Services business as Executive Director, Office Services and Director, Office Services, respectively. Davies and Shum are veterans in the Hong Kong real estate business with more than 40 years of real estate experience between them. They bring an extensive knowledge of the property landscape in Hong Kong to Colliers, especially in Kowloon and the New Territories, and will work together to strengthen the Office Services business in those districts and grow the Industrial capability across all of Hong Kong.
