The overall supply of newly launched condominiums in 2019 in Pattaya was very active, with the supply launching up to 15,545 units, the highest in the past 5 years. However, it was found that the demand did not increase dramatically especially for the Thai purchasing power which was considered to be in a downturn area. The market still mainly relies on foreign purchasing power especially the purchasing power from China. It was also found that the sales of new projects launched in 2019 were not very high, resulting the remaining supply in the market to increase. However, the Research Department from Colliers International Thailand predicts that the infrastructure investment and the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) economic development plan that the government has been trying to support in the past years would be a significant stimulation that will make the condominium market in Pattaya become popular again in the future.”
