In 2017, operators from the fashion and food services segments showed intensive activity in the street-retail market. While the activity of catering is measured by the large number of new openings during this year, representatives of fashion are characterised by re-conceptions, expansions and relocations. Among other interesting trends of 2017 is the reinforcement of the product supermarket segment by new names and also the intensive expansion of large retailers into the “nearby home” format that has grown in popularity recently (SPAR, Perekrestok). In 2018, we can expect a stable rate of new openings and expansions among grocery store chains in the street retail market. Fashion operators will adhere to the trend on format renewal and mono-boutique openings. Thus, the vacancy rate on Staronevsky Avenue and Bolshoy Avenue will decrease.
