In H1 2019, six hotels were opened, with a total of 379 rooms. The most significant increase was in the segment of four-star hotels, with 302 new rooms, or 80% of the new supply.
The average occupancy rate of St. Petersburg hotels over the past six months of 2019 was 69%, which is 5 p.p. higher than in the same period last year. This significant increase was due to an increase in tourist demand for St. Petersburg as a whole, as well as a projected leap in occupancy in June when a number of hotels recorded an increase in occupancy by 7–10 p.p. up to June 2018.
